An extremely rare example. 37mm diameter case, hallmarked. I don’t know what the hallmarks mean, so cannot say whether the case is solid gold, plated gold or silver gilt.

The movement runs free, and ticks for several seconds before halting, so I think it just needs a good clean/service. The stem winds freely.

Eduard Kummer was born in Switzerland in 1845, and became a highly respected watch maker. Examples of his work are rare and highly sought after.
