This is a unique little holder that was made from an 1851 Large Cent coin and some recycled copper pipe.
I use old coins that already have damage and aren’t really worth a lot to a collector.

I started out making this penny into a coin ring, I found that some of the coins from the 1800’s are hard to work with, they tend to split in the forming process. As you can see this one split very early in the process, instead of scrapping it I incorporated it into a ring, pin, cuff link or earring holder.

A piece of scrap copper pipe was used for the top, it was flattened then hammered into a half moon with a rim, a lead free solder was used to attach it to the ring. It was then darkened and polished a little to give it a bronze look. It’s about 1-7/8th inches across the top. It was sprayed with a clear lacquer when finished.

If you are looking for that unique 7th wedding anniversary gift, this is made with copper.

Any questions please ask. This is for the holder.
