This pair of exquisitely hand-hammered plates showcases the intricate artistry of Middle Eastern culture. These mini-masterpieces are made by hand-tooling sheets of copper overlaid with tin; each one is a true work of art that exudes timeless elegance. Even though the plates are of unknown age and maker, this just adds to their mysterious charm. This group is a collector’s dream and the perfect addition to any antique collection or to create a statement grouping in any modern home.
In vintage condition; my parents probably purchased these at the souk in Damascus, Syria or in Beirut in the late 1940’s.
Material: Copper and tin; 501 grams in total. The reverse on each is tinned; both have hangers.
