What an awesome find. A shop display box with 12 near perfect condition tinplate toy cars still inside. Made by MATUSHITA Japan in the 1960s.

The cars are all in unplayed with condition and are pretty close to mint although they all have age related tarnishing of their undersides.

Only one has a small indent to the rear of its roof, please see last two or three photos. For some reason this car, the red racing car no 73, although identical to its matching no 73 car, it has a brown tin base instead of a shiny silvery one.

There appear to be two of all cars except the Fire Chief for which there is only one, but there are three no 73 Racing Cars so it would appear at some point I or someone else replaced the Fire Chief with the brown based no 73 Sports Car.

The box is in very good condition with just minor age related wear to its sides and the staples in the base are rusty but otherwise it looks amazing. Please see photos.

I’d completely forgotten I had this in my collection and really don’t want to sell it, but as everything must go, it must go!
