The legend of St. George is that he was originally a soldier in the Roman army who became a Christian Crusader. One day he came across a village that was being terrorised by a dragon and the only way the villagers found to appease the beast, was to offer a human sacrifice. Saint George slayed the dragon on the exact day that the King's own daughter was to be sacrificed, after the villagers had drawn lots. "Slaying A Dragon To Save A Princess".
