Vintage circa 1960s Western Auto...The Family Store and Catalog Order Center clear plastic rain bonnet in blue and gold plastic advertising case.

Item measures 2 x 4 inches.

New, unused.

Provenance: This item comes from the long-defunct Western Auto Store, Staunton, IL, formerly located on Elm Street just across from the present-day Associated Bank. The modified, remodeled original building still stands, and was later used, among other things, as a Dollar General and then a loan processing center for First National Bank. The building, sold by Associated Bank to the town of Staunton for a nominal $1, is the future home for the Ralph and Josephine Oltmann Community Center.

Founded in 1909, the Western Auto brand formally ceased in 2003, though there are some stores who continue (illegally) to use the name.
