Martin D-18 Vintage Made in 1957

Description

MartinD-18 Vintage Made in 1957

Among Martin's lineup, the D-18 is a standard model along with the D-28.
The light and warm sound is different from the glossy sound of the D-28.
It goes particularly well with playing and singing, and both fingers and picks go well with singing.

The one in stock this time is from 1957.
Sitka spruce top, side and back mahogany, T-bar rod, Jacaranda fingerboard & bridge, long saddle, slightly angular tortoiseshell pickguard.
Although it has been over 60 years since it was manufactured, it is in such good condition that you won't notice it.
It has probably been overlacquered a long time ago, but the body is covered with weather checks, and it has aged naturally, rather than looking strangely beautiful.
There is a strap pin attached to the neck heel.
The nut, saddle, pegs, and frets have probably been replaced.
You can see the so-called Martin crack under the sound hole, but it has been repaired.
In addition, you can see the repair marks that were made to repair the peeling of the binding on the body.
The current neck is almost straight, and the string height is about mm on the 12th fret of the 6th string, and about mm on the 1st string side.
The frets show some signs of use, but about 70% of them remain.

In recent years, used vintages have dried up, not just Martin, and D-18s from the 1950s are no longer available.
You may never come across a D-18 in such good condition again.
If you are looking for one, please consider it as soon as possible.
