Limoges Plainemaison Frères Oval Platter 15 1/2" X 12 1/8" Roses Gold 1889-1909
DESCRIPTION: This superb quality china has colors that are soothing and pastel. This is hand decorated on a blank of white fine china. This is a huge platter which would serve a very large turkey or large loin roast! The floral sprays are very similar to those used by Haviland and T&V decorators.
CONDITION: While this platter is classified as used, it is in superb condition. We can find no chips, cracks, hairlines, nicks, rubbings or repairs. There is no wear to the gold. There appears to be no crazing; see the photos. The lack of utensil scratches attests to the high quality of the fine china. The decorative platter is beautiful.
DIMENSIONS: The oval platter is 15 1/2" by 12 1/8" with a height of 1 7/8".
HISTORY/MARKS: Plainemaison Frères operated in Limoges, France from 1889 until it was purchased in 1909 by T&V (Tressemanes & Vogt). They were primarily a producer of white ware for decorators such as Blakeman & Henderson and T&V. Their decorating studio produced items for sale in France which were typically not exported.
