Jaguar X Type Sovereign 2.2D manual, pre DPF model so not down on power, most economical and reliable of the X Type range in the absolute top spec. Beige leather interior with contrast piping, walnut trim on dash and steering wheel, shadow grey metallic paintwork.

Absolutely everything works as it should, the car has been extremely well looked after during my tenure and has a pretty comprehensive service history prior. Recently outfitted with new tyres all-round and a new battery. Beyond the usual service items the car has also had; bespoke wooden gear knob turned and fitted, chrome trims to front lower bumper, front light surrounds, side indicators and wing mirrors (see pictures), sound insulation inside all four doors, retrimmed A-pillars. The car isn't blemish free and does have some stone chips etc, but is in extremely good condition for its age inside and out (see pictures). The car has had welding work in the past to remedy the common subframe failure (welding work was carried out after the advisory on a past MOT), and the car is structurally sound. A new clutch was also fitted just before I bought the car, at around 68,000 miles.

I've carried out services myself with premium fully synthetic oils, and have also relatively recently completed a full gearbox system flush and refill with fresh oil - the shifting is very smooth and should remain so for a good few years to come. The car has also recently had a new EGR valve, and I cleaned out the entire intake system while doing the work. Notable features include; 2 stage heated 6-way electrically adjustable front seats with 3 memory settings for the driver's seat, heated front and rear windscreens, heated folding mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, factory SatNav, hands-free Bluetooth calls with Jaguar Voice, CD changer, Alpine stereo system (recently fitted with new OEM Alpine speakers).

Roughly 91,800 miles covered, mostly motorway miles during my ownership, and save for a (now rectified) EGR failure the car has never missed a beat during three years of motoring. A much more stylish car than it is given credit for (particularly in its estate guise) and in my opinion much more timeless than the later facelifted models - not to mention the lack of DPF (strangles the exhaust and an expensive potential failure) and lower tax bracket (£240 PA). During my tenure I have consistently gotten well above 40mpg.

I would recommend having an EGR delete as they do strangle performance a little and are a common failure point - something I should have had done during my ownership given it was the only thing that ever gave me trouble!

A really great, reliable car and a potential future classic (if continued to be well cared for) owing to its high spec and overall condition. Private sale. Payment can be made in cash or by bank transfer. Collection only from Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

UPDATE: 12 month MOT as of 26/02/24
Have been advised that the rear anti-roll bar drop links need new dust covers and the brake discs will need replacing in the next couple of years, but these are wearing parts and the car otherwise sailed through its MOT.

SECOND UPDATE: THOUGH NOT NOTED ON THE LOGBOOK I HAVE JUST FOUND OUT THE CAR WAS REGISTERED CAT D AFTER COSMETIC DAMAGE IN 2008. I WAS NOT INFORMED OF THIS WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR AND HAVE SPARED NO EXPENSE IN LOOKING AFTER IT. THE CAR IS PRESENTLY IN FANTASTIC CONDITION, AND I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY TROUBLE WITH INSURANCE.

RELISTED DUE TO TIMEWASTING (highest bidder requested to cancel without coming to see the car)

No reserve auction - only serious offers over the current bid price will be considered
