BASED ON WORLDCAT, GROSSET AND DUNLAP PRINTED THIS BOOK IN 1931 ONLY, THOUGH IT MAY HAVE INCLUDED A HARDCOVER FORMAT AS WELL AS THE LEATHER FORMAT.

THIS IS A FULL LEATHER COVER, BUT IT IS A SOFTCOVER. Book is 5.5" x 8"

THERE IS A CONDITION ISSUE WITH THE LEATHER AND SEE BELOW.

INTERIOR OF THE BOOK HAS 340 PAGES WITH MARBLED END PAPERS.

- FRONT AND REAR COVER ARE BOWED OUTWARD BUT THEY ARE FULLY ATTACHED TO THE SPINE WITH NO HINT OF SPLITTING.
-OWNER INFORMATION IS WRITTEN IN PENCIL ON THE FRONT END PAPER.
- THERE IS AGE RELATED PAPER TONING THROUGHOUT AND DUST ON EXPOSED PAGE EDGES. -
-THERE IS A LIGHT UPPER CORNER BUMP THAT INCLUDES THE ROMAN NUMERAL CONTENTS AND DISAPPEARS BY ABOUT PAGE 10 OF THE BOOK ITSELF.

THE ONLY SIGNIFICANT ISSUE IS THE SURFACE WEAR TO THE LEATHER, ESPECIALLY ALONG THE OVERHANGING EDGES. THERE IS LOSS TO SOME OF THE RED SURFACE LEATHER. THERE HAS BEEN CHIPPING AND FLAKING OF THE LEATHER SURFACE ALONG THE OUTER EDGES AND EDGES WHERE COVERS MEET SPINE COVER AND TOP AND BOTTOM EDGES OF SPINE COVER. You can expect, when you remove the book from the vinyl bag I have placed it in, that there will be little bits of red leather detritus left behind. The book is fully functional but dropping specks of red leather everywhere could be annoying, so it is mentioned FYI

The book should still outlast anyone buying it if it is taken care of and it remains a fully functional book with a strong spine with no splits.
There is likely even a way to spray the covers with something that will retard the red rot of the leather and would stop the bits and pieces from falling away

The gold gilt on the leather spine is attractive for your library and this book is nearly a century old.
