The J-55 was released in the tradition of Gibson round shoulder acoustic guitars.
The J-55 was one of four jumbo models released by Gibson in the 1930s, and became an increasingly highly prized model decades after its original release.

The 1939J-55 is packed with attractive features such as a premium ebony fingerboard bridge, long scale neck, and thermally aged Adirondack red spruce top.
Other features that make this custom model stand out include the Master Shu bridge, Firestripe pickguard, and wide 1.77 inch (44.95 mm) nut width.
