Washburn Chicago Series KC-100 Proto Type

Description

In Japan, Washburn is a brand known for N4, which is used by Nuno Bettencourt.
It is a brand that is even more well-known overseas than in Japan, and is actively selling not only electric guitars but also acoustic guitars, and has gained support from a wide range of players, especially its original models with unique shapes.

This device is one of those original models and is a Japanese-made model named ChicagoSeries.
What is Chicago even though it is domestically produced? That's what I think (lol)

Moreover, it is an extremely rare prototype that was discovered at a certain musical instrument factory several years ago!

The series itself seems to have been produced from the late 80's to the 90's, but since there is no indication of the year of manufacture of this instrument, it is unknown what year it was manufactured.

Although it is commonly known as a dinky type, it has unique specifications such as an arched top and arched back curved body, a set neck with a heel cut like a through neck, and a concord head, making it an impactful model named Cracked Red. This is a one-of-a-kind guitar with a finishing touch.

Even with all the parts removed, there is no visible wood, so the wood used is unknown, but the regular KC-100 was listed as having a maple body, rose fingerboard, and maple set neck. So, is it the same for this device? It seems that.

Are the pickups original? The front and center are quarter pound type single coils, the rear is a humbucker SSH style, and it is equipped with an active booster.

Controls include master volume knob, rear P.U coil tap, booster level, and master tone.
The mini switch is an on/off switch for each pickup, and with this combination alone, you can create a variety of sounds that you won't believe are coming from a single guitar!

The bridge is a Floyd Rose licensed tremolo made by Takeuchi, the pegs are Goto, and you can feel the attention to detail in the parts.

Although the details are unknown, it is a prototype, but it is a high-quality guitar that has all the characteristics of the Dinky type, such as high playability, wide sound variation, and original appearance.

There are some small scratches and slight cracks on the body, one crack on the back of the 2nd fret of the neck, and a crack in the paint on the neck binding, but none of the damage seems to interfere with play.

Also, the rod cover and tremolo back panel are missing.

Approximately 80% of the frets remain, and the neck is currently straight with plenty of room for the rod.

By the way, I would like to withhold the details of the factory where it was discovered. Even if I ask, I will not be able to give you an answer.
A souvenir from a master craftsman from the Showa era Personally, it was a guitar that made me feel a lot of emotions when I played it.

This is truly a one-of-a-kind guitar and is recommended as a collector's item.
