Vintage DECO 1920's Needle Point Handmade Black Wool Rug Carpet 180x122cm
Striking design, decorative ribbon twist frame with floral sprigs to centre on a black ground.
I am unsure of the rugs construction, it looks like a tapestry canvas structure, so I have described it as needlepoint.
(I took a picture of the back or the rug to illustrate).

I lightened the colour on one of the close up photos to highlight a small darned/mended area.
The black wool ground of the rug has, on close inspection areas of undulating depth of shade, similarly, the outer border frame has some lighter areas/fade, please examine photos closely.
Scuff to edge, see close up photo, some minor imperfections also highlighted.
the rug has been backed with a hand stitched band of hessian which has served to protect the edge,
some ripples to outer edge, the rug has been stored rolled so will require a little time to flatten completely,Antique rug, likely dating from the 1930's the rug has a gently aged appearance, not dirty or stained at all, from a smoke free past.
The rug will be posted folded rather than rolled.
