Pilot Fine Nib 18K Lady Pen Silver Colour Body / Red Section Con-40 + Box.

This is a beautiful example of an early Pilot lady pen, from a time when even pen advertising clearly segregated the sexes and said that women must like jewelled finials and swirly gold figure of 8s where a gold band should be. Despite such blatant sexism, Pilot did however manage to make a unique and fascinating specimen. It still proudly displays the 5000 yen sticker, showing it to be a Fine nib pen, and the body and nib are in near mint condition.

There are no major scratches or dents, and overall this pen is in great shape, it doesn’t seemed to have been used more than a few times.

The nib was a little stiff for my liking, but it wasn’t scratchy or too dry, it also didn’t skip once and I was happy with how neat and consistent a writer it was. It might be more suited to fans of Sailor pens.

The only problem with this pen, as you may have spotted, is the browning of the cap. This is no doubt some reaction of the metal, and less abrasive cleaning methods have proven useless.

The pen comes with a new or nearly new con-40 (all are properly cleaned) and the plastic box with testing card shown in the photo.

Even though the pen has been thoroughly cleaned before and after testing, it’s always best to rinse through before use.

Returns for used pens are only accepted if they are faulty or not as described. However I do sometimes allow for pens to be dip tested as long as the feed and cartridge don’t get ink up, please message me in advance.
