French hour repeating sweep seconds carriage clock @ 1880 signed Bolviller a Paris.  This is a very rare high grade repeating French carriage clock needing and worthy of a proper restoration.  The front beveled glass has some damage to one corner, while the other 3 beveled glasses are original and good.  The top glass is unique, having a hole drilled in it for the hour repeat shaft to pass through.  The extremely high quality and detailed engraved case looks quite good.  The back door is unique with engraving and a shutter arrangement to access the winding shafts.  Original fancy signed porcelain dial has damage and hairlines as shown in the many photos.  The hour and minute hands appear original, while the sweep seconds hand is replaced.  The rare 8 day sweep seconds hour repeating movement is complete and intact, and runs good, but loses time, and is all the way towards the fast setting on the regulator.  Platform escapement is old, but looks to have been replaced at some point in the past.  The striking and the hour repeating function perform well.  Strikes on its original silvered bell, very nice.  Dimensions are:  7" tall with the handle up x 4" wide x 3 3/8" deep.  No reserve.  UPS ground shipping in the continental USA will be $25.00.
