Made and released in Japan between 1994 and 1996, catalogue number COCS 11700. Still factory sealed – as seen in photo! This is clearly a domestic release seldom seen in overseas markets, and the music is anything but background music for a mall, hotel lobby, supermarket, elevator ride or train commute! Those of you familiar with this easy listening series coming out of Japan will realize that the Nordisle Bois Orchestre is a primarily string-piano-guitar- flute instrumental outfit that uses electric guitar, synthesizer and drums sparingly. Sometimes it also records under the label ‘The Movin’Dream Orchestra’. In this softly romantic collection – no fast paced numbers in this one – the music associated with Peter Cetera, Michael Masser, Gerry Goffin, Whitney Houston [three of her hits are treated instrumentally here], Gazebo, Roberta Flack, Albert Hammond, Rita Coolidge, Bobby Vinton, Andy Williams and the Righteous Brothers have been transformed ‘classically’ with the standard instruments of a concert orchestra to evoke a dreamy yet inspirational mood. The pale apple green photo of a ribbon on the cover says it all – this is gentle easy listening for the quieter parts of your day. This is truly a collector’s gem!
