1966 Hall of Fame Plaques (Inductees Ted Williams & Casey Stengel) Signed Newspaper Photo

The plaque of Ted Williams pictured here was never issued in a HOF Plaque postcard. It was the style of plaque from Ted’s induction in 1966. Ted did not like this plaque and  had the Hall of Fame change the portrait on the plaque.

The second version of the Ted WIliams plaque was the first one issued  as a Hall of Fame postcard, being released with the 1967 Inductees early in 1968.

(HOF Plaque postcards prior to 1989 were not available on the Induction Day. They were released sometime between September and February following the induction.).

Interestingly, Ted had his portrait later changed again, so there are three different portraits of Ted Williams Hall of Fame Plaques.

However, as mentioned above, no Hall of Fame Plaque postcard exists with this first portrait of Ted Williams. It is rare to even to see a photo of the plaque let alone have a signed one.

Comes with a JSA Authentication letter.
