I first encountered T.K. in 1974 when I heard George McCrea's "Rock Your Baby" on FEN and bought the LP at Melody House.

A year before that, when I went to the U.S. for the first time, I bought a lot of Philly (PIR) records.

I also liked T.K. because of the brightness of the sound and longing for Florida and Caribbean.

At the time, I was doing a series of "Favorite Single Vinyl Charts" with Teruhiko Yumura for a magazine called "SOUL ON," so I have been collecting 7-inch records ever since.

I selected and composed two titles, "For Lovers Only," which is only sweet soul, and "Party Freaks," which is a collection of funky tracks, with the flow of actually DJing myself and the feeling of making a mixtape. Enjoy!
