Up for auction is this American Bank Note Company (ABNCo) Souvenir Card to commemorate the American Numismatic Association’s 88th Anniversary Convention, July 28, 1979 through August 2, 1979 in St. Louis, Missouri.  The Souvenir Card features the obverse reproduction of a $10.00 Obsolete Banknote issued by “The Exchange Bank Of St. Louis, Missouri” in the 1860’s and 1870’s.

Also featured on this Souvenir Card, in the central vignette, a bust of Thomas Jefferson inside a shaded oval.  To each side of that, a “10” counter inside a shaded hexagon.  Below that, “Ten Dollars” spelled out reversed out of the dark red / brown.  On the left, a woman with flowers in her hair, holding a sickle in her left hand, a head scarf in her right with a dog looking up at her.  On the right, a young woman holding a 4 leaf clover. American Banknote Company was the premier Obsolete Banknote printer of its time.

The overall size of BEP Souvenir Card is 8-1/2 inches x 10-11/16 inches.  The $10.00 Exchange Bank Of St. Louis, Missouri Obsolete Banknote obverse, is printed in 2/Colors.   The black copy is printed in the Intaglio Printing Process.  The dark red / brown background is printed in lithography. This entire Souvenir card is printed by the American Banknote Company, as the black printing ink has a slightly raised surface, and there is evidence of a printing impression on the back of this card stock.

This ANA Souvenir Card is in Mint Condition, with no creases, bends, folds or defects.
