I have here for sale a book entitled THE SILVER SWORD by IAN SERRAILLIER. This first edition by the FOLIO SOCIETY, London was published in 2012.Illustrated by Raul Allen. 

The Silver Sword is a children's novel written by Ian Serraillier and  originally published in the United Kingdom by Jonathan Cape in 1956 and then by Puffin Books in 1960. It has also been published in the United States under the title Escape From Warsaw.

The story is based on fact, although fictional names are given to a few of the places mentioned. The account of the Red Army on the march is derived from eyewitness accounts in Jan Stransky's East Wind over Prague. In an Afterword to the 2003 edition Jane Serraillier Grossfeld, the author's daughter, identifies a Picture Post article about the Pestalozzi children's village as a source. 

It has a slipcase, some age soiling to the surfaces.  it is in good condition.

The book is bound in blue coloured, illustrated linen boards. Silver title lettering on the spine. It looks as if it has never been read. Slight musty smell. Spotting on the back board. The book is in very good condition, pages are clean and bright and it is  tightly bound with no loose or missing pages.  139pp; 24cm x 17cm.

Postage and packing : I know that you will be looking forward to receiving your order, each book is carefully wrapped in packing paper ( I have changed from bubble wrap to try and reduce my use of plastic) and posted in a Jiffy bag if size permitting, if not it is double wrapped in corrugated cardboard, brown paper and then securely taped. 

To keep the cost of the postage down to the most economical level per book, you may consider buying more than 1 item from my eBay account. You can then request a combined postage cost and I will combine the items into the fewest parcels as possible - saving you money :)
