Greco JJ-1 PK PINK Japan Vintage Rare Used Made in 1985

Description

At that time, Greco is still famous worldwide for producing many legacy models symbolized by the Mint Collection, but on the other hand, it also actively engaged in musician relations and produced a number of endorsed models.

This instrument is based on the domestically produced Greco JJ-1, which can be said to symbolize the metal guitar that dominated the 1980s, and incorporates a Dinky body, a slightly smaller Strat, a Concorde head, SSH pickup specifications, and a lock-type tremolo unit. second hand. Serial #852658 Made in 1985
The tremolo unit, which is the biggest feature of this instrument, uses a flat type Kohler tremolo system made by Flyer, which can be mounted with a relatively shallow counterbore without the need for a large counterbore.
It is a system that is operated by two springs approximately 3cm long attached to the back of the unit, and its biggest feature is the lightness of the torque that allows you to perform a variety of arming plays with just your little finger. Furthermore, it is equipped with a fine tuning function, and when used in conjunction with a lock nut, it allows for stable play that is on par with the currently mainstream Floyd Rose.

The pickup selector is a system that has mini-switches assigned to the front center and rear, respectively, with HI at the top, OFF at the center, and LO at the bottom.

In addition, the pegs are made of Glover, the nut is made of carbon, and other specifications that have become the basis for many modern models of this type are generously adopted.

Appearance condition
There are knocks and scratches, small chips, and rust spots on metal parts that are appropriate for the age.
There is a paint crack of about 3mm on the neck joint, but it does not affect performance.
There is some wear on the outside of the front pickup due to picking. Additionally, the rear pickup has been replaced with a covered type Bartolini passive humbucker, part number unknown. It seems that it was originally equipped with an open type DRY, but the original pickup is not included.
Also, there are some areas of discoloration mainly on the inside of the left and right wings of the body.
The mini switch for the rear pickup was curved, so it has been replaced with the current type.
There is a crack in one screw hole on the tremolo back panel.
Condition, playability
There are no modifications other than the humbucker being replaced, and all Schaller parts are in good working order. There are hardly any partial play spots on the frets, but it seems that they were originally struck with low oval type frets, so considering the height of the current medium jumbo frets, about 60% remain on average. I have the impression that There are currently no problems with the neck condition, and the truss rod has plenty of room on both sides.
