RARE 1994 Fender Japan JG66-RC MH ’62 Reissue Jaguar Burgundy Mist w/Matching Headstock, MIJ Fujigen Limited Offset
Here’s a little something special for all the Fender Japan fans alike!
For your consideration, one of the rarest Jaguars Fender Japan has had to offer, the 1994 JG66-RC “BMT” ’62 Reissue Jaguar in Burgundy Mist with a Matching Painted Headstock and Rosewood Fretboard.
Made solely in 1994 and in extremely limited numbers, this Jaguar was Fender Japan’s earliest take on the Custom Colour Burgundy Mist, though it’s certainly not as we know it!
More akin to a bronze or copper metallic finish, our Jaguar is meant to represent an aged Burgundy Mist Metallic. It’s one of the most stunning finishes we’ve ever encountered on Fujigen made Fender and is what sets our Jag apart from the rest.
The Japanese made Fenders are really something to shout about and this JM is no exception, the fit and finish is what you’d expect of a Japanese made instrument, and is almost (if not!) just as good as it’s USA built counterparts.
Japanese made Jaguars in Custom Colours, such as this one, are becoming increasingly harder to source, even in Japan! Their popularity amongst the indie music community, coupled with high quality Japanese Craftsmanship, means demand is high and they are becoming more and more collectable.
Condition wise, our Jag is in excellent form considering its vintage. Cosmetically, there’s only but a few light marks to mention, in the both body finish and scratchplate, with nothing nasty nor wood bearing. All of these have been pictured for reference, so please, take a moment to review the photos carefully. The vintage style frets show little to no use, with no real signs of pitting. The completely stock electronics work smoothly, as intended and are untouched. To round off, the original Japanese single coil pickups, offer all the charm and chime we know and love the Jaguar for. True to vintage spec, our offset sports a 7.25” radius fretboard, with “C-shape” profile neck and weighs in approximately 8.1lbs.
It’s been professionally setup with a fresh set of 10-46 strings and has undergone a clean of the body, fretboard, frets and internals, this Jag is glowing!
