She is lying afloat in Whitehaven marina.

This Swedish boat maker made 1500 ballads, Minkie from 1972 was one of the first, she is No. 35.

This boat has a proven seaworthy record for long distance, offshore sailing. I have owned this boat since 2011 and have singlehandedly sailed her for thousands of miles including passages to France, Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Canary Islands, Cape Verde, I have crossed the Atlantic, twice (there and back), Caribbean Islands, Azores Islands,  around Ireland, Scotland the Clyde and Western Isles, all over the Irish sea and for the last 5 or 6 years we head south every summer and spend time in the sunshine on the South coast of Brittany. 

What makes her special for offshore sailing? She has a fully encapsulated keel which has one third of the boat ballast in the lead keel, masthead rigged, keel stepped mast and a rudder with a skeg.

2 x 80 amp hour leisure batteries and 1 separate engine starter battery. 

The engine has a sterling Pro Reg B alternator regulator in line for fast charging. 

VHF radio with antenna at the top of the mast.  

Transducer in bow with display of depth that can be seen from on deck. 

All navigation lights are led. Tricolor and anchor light at the top of mast. Port, starboard, steaming and stern lights lower down. 

All lighting inside the boat is led. 2 of the spotlands have USB connections from the 12v system. 

A number of 240v plugs which also have USB connections on them. 

The mast has fixed fold away nylon mast STEPS. 

12v electric water pump system for fresh water. 

The engine has a calorifier which gives hot water once the engine has been used, allowing for hot showers on deck.

2 x Radar reflectors, on back of boat and at the top of the mast. 

Life raft (needs servicing) plus a cradle. 

Lay out inside the boat: double v berth in the bow, forward hatch, heads and drying locker. 2 berths in the saloon, the original pilot berths have been changed for cupboards giving the boat a more modern feel. Galley area with cooker, sink, fridge, side cupboard and under sink cupboard. Electronics area, chart table and seat with tool box storage under the seat. Extensive switching panel on the wall. 

The cockpit area has large port and starboard lockers and lazarette locker. 

Please note: The original forward hatch has been changed for a stormforce size 60 hatch and the boom has had a repair in 2017. The welding sleeve and repair has sailed thousands of miles since the repair without a hitch.
