Exquisite Decorative ROSENTHAL CREAMER, PINK WILD ROSES w/Green LEAVES, circa 1898-1906 from Selb, Bavaria, Germany, on the VERSAILLES Mold Scalloped Rim w/EMBOSSING on the 6 FEET, Solid GOLD Paint on RIBBON HANDLE & RIM
DESCRIPTION: This features 2 large sprays of pink wild roses with green leaves on the outside and luster on the inside. It has embossing on the 6 feet with gold trim on the rim and luster on the inside. The ribbon handle is painted a solid gold.
CONDITION: The condition of this creamer is superb even though the condition is used. The creamer has no wear on the gold on the handle, the rim, and the spout. We can find no defects or damage. There are
no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches or hairlines. Please
refer to the photos to see the condition for yourself.
DIMENSIONS: The creamer has a bottom diameter of 3 5/8" and a height of 4". Handle to spout, the measurement is 4" and the top diameter is 2 3/8".
HISTORY/MARKS: In 1879 in Upper Franconia, Bavaria at Erkersreuth Castle, Phillip
Rosenthal (1855-1937) founded a porcelain decorating studio using blanks
supplied by Zeidler. His business grew to the point that in 1891 he
built his first factory to produce porcelain using kaolin imported from
Bohemia. The current Rosenthal website states from 1907 the company
marks each product with its full name, thus the brand name of Rosenthal
is born in 1907. In his book entitled Rosenthal, Dieter Struss dates
this creamer as produced in 1898-1906 time period. This set is on the Versailles
mold which was introduced in 1894.
