San Marzano

Determinate - A long, slender plum tomato with a sweet, rich flavour and a bright red skin. Known for its excellent flavour, good disease resistance and large crops of up to 10kg. Outdoor or under glass.

San Marzano tomatoes are a type of tomato that originated in the town of San Marzano sul Sarno, near Naples, Italy. They are considered by many to be the best tomatoes for making pasta sauce because of their sweet and slightly tangy flavour, and their firm, meaty flesh that breaks down easily when cooked.

In addition to their taste and versatility, San Marzano tomatoes are also relatively easy to grow. They are a determinate variety, meaning that they will grow to a certain size and then stop, making them easier to manage in the garden. They are also resistant to many common tomato diseases, such as blight and wilt and famed for producing very large crops of up to 10kg in a season.

 

Super Marmande

Indeterminate - A medium-sized, beefsteak tomato with a rich, spicy flavour, a deep red skin and very few seeds. This variety is prized for its excellent flavour and good disease resistance.

This is the classic beef steak tom with a round, flattened shape and a slightly ribbed skin. With the right conditions, the plants are vigorous and productive.

Indigo Rose

Determinate - unique, deep purple to almost black, large cherry tomato with sweet, purple flesh. Gorgeous to look at and filled with anti-oxidants.

Indigo Rose is a unique and popular variety of tomato known for its deep purple colour and sweet, flavoursome flesh. The skin of the tomato is a deep, dark purple colour that is almost black, while the flesh is a reddish-purple colour.

One of the main reasons that Indigo Rose tomatoes are so special is their unique colour. Sakura F1

Indeterminate - Small, round tomato with a vibrant pinkish-red skin and a sweet, juicy flesh. Very sweet and highly productive. RHS Award Garden Merit (AGM). Up to 4kg fruit, Brix rating 8.8.

Floridity F1

Indeterminate; Highly productive variety with super-sweet little plum tomatoes growing in large trusses of up to 35 fruits. RHS Award Garden Merit (AGM). Brix rating 9.5.

Floridity F1 is a very impressive variety that scores highly on all fronts; it is fairly easy to grow, succeeding outdoors but really thriving under glass. It starts fruiting fairly early and keeps on going. Plants produce large trusses of up to 35 small plum-like tomatoes. Fruits have a good, strong flavour and an exceptionally high sugar content, making them great for salads or snacking tomatoes.

The Brix Scale is a measure of the sweetness of fruit, giving the sugar content as a percentage of overall weight. Sweeter varieties of tomatoes, for the most part cherries and grape varieties, range from about 6-10 on the Brix scale. Floridity is one of the highest scoring of all tomatoes with an impressive 9.5 rating. It doesn’t get much sweeter.

 

Tomatoberry

Indeterminate; exceedingly heavy cropper of sweet, strawberry-shaped fruit, early to mature, all round winner.

Tomatoberry is an unusual and eye-catching variety that consistently pulls out all the stops. It starts producing fruits very early in the season, growing long trusses of sweet, tangy fruits that are the shape of strawberries and the size of large cherry tomatoes.

Plants can grow large if not kept pruned and can be trained over a trellis. If allowed to grow to full size, plants can produce 5-9kg fruits each. Plants will produce a reasonable crop of fruits outdoors in the UK but they really thrive under glass.

 

Cherry Falls F1

Indeterminate - one of the best outdoor varieties, tidy bush plants, well suited to hanging baskets and containers, heavy cropper of cherry tomatoes with an exceptional flavour.

Cherry Falls F1 is an excellent choice for growing tomatoes outdoor in the UK, doing well even in the northern regions. Plants are tidy little bushes that grow to a height of no more than 20cm, but will train down 3 or 4 times.

Cherry Falls tomato plants are known for their vibrant, colorful fruits, lush, green foliage and sweet, acidic fruits. Tomatoes grow in trailing clusters on the plants and are largish cherry tomato size, around 3 to 5 cm.

 

Sungold F1

Indeterminate – A cheeky small, round cherry tomato with a sweet, almost tropical flavour and a golden-orange skin. It’s also a high yielder. RHS Award Garden Merit. Brix Rating: 9.3

Sungold F1 tomato plants are compact and easy to grow, making them a good choice for gardeners or anyone with limited space. They are fast becoming a favourite variety in the UK.

One of the main reasons to grow Sungold tomatoes is their unique taste. The extra sweetness they have makes them good for snacking, adding to salads, or using as a garnish. In addition to being used fresh, they can also be roasted, grilled, or used in sauces and soups.

In terms of their growth habit, Sungold tomatoes are generally classified as indeterminate. This means that they will continue to grow and produce fruit until the end of the growing season, rather than stopping at a certain size like the determinate varieties. As a result, they may require more staking and pruning to keep them under control.

 

Tigerella

Indeterminate- highly attractive, small to medium sized tomatoes with distinctive tiger-stripes that look as fantastic as they taste; sweet, tangy, delicious. Medium-sized fruit, heavy cropping. RHS Award Garden Merit (AGM).

Tumbling Toms

Determinate, compact, good for outdoor growth. Tumbling Tom tomatoes are a popular variety of cherry tomato that is known for its compact size and trailing habit.

This makes them an excellent choice for growing in hanging baskets, pots, and small spaces. Tumbling Tom tomatoes are also easy to care for and are resistant to many common tomato diseases.

One of the main reasons to grow Gardener's Delight tomatoes is that they are reliable and have a top-notch tomato taste. They are also a versatile tomato, ideal for salads, sandwiches and other dishes.

In addition to their taste and versatility, Gardener's Delight are relatively easy to grow. As a determinate variety, they will grow to a certain size and then stop, making them easier to manage in the greenhouse. They are also resistant to many common tomato diseases, such as blight and wilt.

 

Sweet Million

Suncherry Premium F1

Indeterminate; Extremely high yielding hybrid variety of cherry tomatoes with a high sugar content. RHS Award Garden Merit. Brix rating, 9.2

Suncherry Premium F1 is a fantastic all-rounder, no need to compromise on flavour, sweetness or productivity and the variety has been awarded an RHS Award of Graden Merit in recognition of this.

The variety is extremely impressive, producing large trusses with up to 30 fruits on each. It can be grown outside but prefers the shelter of a greenhouse to reach its full potential.

The Brix Rating is a measure of sweetness, giving a percentage of sugar content as a percentage of total weight, with the sweetest of tomatoes ranging from 6.0 to 10.00, meaning that Suncherry comes in at the sweeter end of the sweetest with a 9.2 Brix rating.
