Antique Dr. A. Reed Cushion Shoes Button Balmoral Black Leather Men's Shoes/ Boots.

Offering for sale these exceptional antique Dr. A. Reed Cushion Shoes Button Balmoral Black Leather Men's Shoes/ Boots. These shoes were made by the J. P. Smith Shoe Company Makers of Chicago, IL in the early 1900s. These classic Victorian/ Edwardian shoes feature pleasingly slender lines that are typical of the years around and proceeding 1920. With the increasing importance of low shoes and more casual styles, high button shoes came to be seen as stuffy and old-fashion and eventually fell out of use in the 1930's. These shoes are in very good antique condition with some light cracking on the upper vamps and wear on the soles as pictured. These shoes are marked "271 4457 M1" which I believe means size 10 US. Inside measurements are 10 1/4" long from inside toe to heel and 3 1/4" wide. There are new buttons with fresh shoe polish which may transfer to fingers. Please see pictures for the actual condition of these exceptional antique Black LeatherButton Balmoral Men's Shoes.

Each measures approximately 11" long x 3 1/2" wide x 6" tall.
