Offered here is an antique cast metal spelter painted sculpture/bookend of a goddess holding a tambourine. It is signed "Bouret" on the front lower right. At first I thought this may be a sculpture by the 19th century French artist, Eutrope Bouret, however, I no longer believe it is as the signature is different and he typically created bronze pieces. Additionally, on the back of this one it is engraved with "2231-A" and "P.P.C. c 4-70", but what looks like a 4 may not actually be a 4. I've had no luck determining who or what P.P.C. is. There are currently two similar sculptures listed on eBay signed Bouret in the same place, but those are not painted and they don't have the other engraved information on the back. A mystery at this point for sure!

This sculpture remains in good condition other than some areas of chipped paint, and you can see the metal underneath in a few places. Felt material is on the underside for surface protection.
