"Smoke in the Canyon: My Steam Days in Dunsmuir” is Dick Murdock’s collection of tales about his times as a Southern Pacific engineer working out of the Dunsmuir terminal.  An interesting set of stories about a large railroad with some of the largest engines known.  There are lots of b/w photos with several cab-forwards represented here.

This 142-page, quarto-size, landscape-formatted hardcover book was published in 1987 by May-Murdock Publications as their stated second printing of a 1986 limited edition.  This copy is in very good condition with no damage - no jammed corners, no text markings, no dog-eared pages.  The dust jacket is in very good condition with no chips, tears or creases.  The rear lower bottom shows very minor wear.  The photos are of this very book.
