PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Here is an interesting clarinet in C by Chabrier Pelobet. Chabrier Pelobet's father was a French soldier, who, after being sentenced to death by the revolutionary council, escaped prison and fled to Germany where he trained as a woodwind maker. The family emigrated to America, where Chabrier trained under his father's tutelage and took over the family business. This instrument is an insightful look into Americana woodwind manufacture in the early 19th century. In overall good condition with some cracks and chips in the bell. Will need pad work to be playable.

Provenance: The Historic Collection. This is from the collection of a well-known researcher and historian of woodwinds who spent a lifetime collecting rare and unique instruments. We are privileged to offer items from this collection for sale.

As this instrument is historically interesting we have chosen to not do restoration work on it and leave that to the eventual owner.
