Please don't hesitate to get in touch as normal with enquirie, etc, but allow additional time for a response as I will be in a different timezone. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this 🙂 Jason, KimSon LFTR Watchmakers.*

Here I have for sale a stunning example of vintage 17-jewel, no-date manual wind Sekonda military/field style watch with USSR Vostok 2214 movement, a 31mm case diameter and slender 10mm case thickness. This is an earlier model with a high dome crystal and dial face, which gives it a very distinctive look!

This watch has been fully and professionally serviced (stripped, multi-stage cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner, methodically oiled, reassembled and regulated) and is functioning perfectly. It is keeping really excellent time. The wind is nice and smooth, all feels great. The lume still responds to light, but doesn't last - as expected for its age.

Please bare in mind this is a vintage watch and has been regulated in the dial up position. When being worn on wrist upto  + or - 20-30 seconds per day should be considered acceptable, although I suspect this example to perform much better given the time grapher readings over the last week! These 17 jewel movements are wonderful.

The watch is fitted with an military green NATO strap but you can also choose from a black or khaki NATO and a green or khaki perlon as seen in the picture. The watch will come with the NATO in the pictures unless you specify that you would prefer one of the others instead 🙂

This watch is practically like new!

Features and specifications -

Case diameter: 30.8mm excluding crown

Case thickness - 10.4mm (12.8mm including NATO strap)

Lug/strap width - 16mm

Lug-to-lug - 41mm

Movement - 17 jewel mechanical Vostok 2214 manual wind

Lumed hands and indices

Nato strap

Water resistance - it should go without saying but please do not shower or swim with these vintage watches, vintage timepieces often have little to no water resistance at all and should be considered as NOT water resistant unless otherwise stated.

*IMPORTANT RETURNS NOTICE

Whilst returns are accepted please be aware that return postage is at the cost of the buyer. This should certainly be taken into account when purchasing items from overseas, where the cost of shipping and taxes may be equal to, or excide the total cost of the item if an item is to be returned for any reason.

Full refunds will be availed for any item returned (minus the cost of the original shipping and export fee/fees, etc). It is however subject to the item being returned in the same condition that it was sent out (all items are thoroughly photographed for listings and future reference). This of course does not apply if the item in question develops an issue outside of your control or due to human error – we will do everything we can to help in these cases.

*IMPORTANT SHIPPING INFORMATION

All items above the value of £15.00 are shipped out via Royal Mail 48 tracked and are usually shipped out the same day (Monday-Saturday before 1.00 pm), or booked for collection the next working day at 8.30 am.

Royal Mail 24 tracked is available at an additional cost.

We are a very small business running a workshop from home, so your item may be sent in non-branded or re-used boxes, this is to save on shipping costs and in the interest of recycling. We can only offer free UK shipping by doing such things. Gift wrapping is available on request.

WHO ARE WE? We are husband and wife, Jason and Kim, together we are KimSon. ‘LFTR’ pays homage to my (Jason)’s previous work as a Nuclear Engineer. We are passionate watch enthusiasts with a desire to run our business with what we like to think of as an ‘old-fashioned’ approach; we want to build great relationships with our long-term customers, to go that extra mile or more for those who trust us to provide the best service possible, to share our love of watches by breathing life back into even the most affordable timepieces for the next owner to make new memories with.

What does it mean to buy a refurbished watch?

We buy pre-owned or new/old stock watches that are looking a bit sorry for themselves, often left in a drawer after the battery died, or simply forgotten about when someone buys a new watch. We take those watches and breathe life back into them. First and foremost this means stripping the watch down to remove the movement and dial so the following work can be done –

ULTRASONIC CLEANING:  The watch case, case back, bracelet, and stem/crown is thoroughly cleaned with an ultrasonic cleaner. Nylon straps are also cleaned this way. More delicate plastic parts will be cleaned by hand.

• BATTERY REPLACEMENT: Battery-powered watches are fitted with a new, premium cell (we use Renata, Panasonic, Rayovac, Murata, and Maxell)

• CRYSTAL POLISH OR REPLACEMENT: Once the watch case has been cleaned the crystal (watch face) can be replaced if it is deemed too scratched or damaged (for both mineral and acrylic mineral glass crystals), or polished if they are acrylic plastic crystals.

• POLISH: Stainless steel cases, case backs, and bracelets may be given a light polish. Cases that are plated cannot be polished due to the risk of removing too much plating. In some cases, we will use a low cut, filler glaze, and wax-based polish to help improve and protect scuffed plating. Bracelets with a brushed finish will be re-brushed after polishing.

• MOVEMENT REPAIR OR REPLACE: if a watch arrives with a faulty movement or module this will either be replaced with a new or reconditioned item, or repaired with either new or used parts (this will always be listed in the listing). If a quartz movement is working fine it will simply be placed back into the watch on reassembly.

Mechanical movements will be inspected for obvious signs of issues and checked on a timegrapher to ensure they are at least fit for sale and operating as they should be.

• GASKETS AND O-RINGS: Upon reassembly the caseback gasket will nearly always be replaced with a new one unless the original is of a special design or still in satisfactory condition. The new or old gasket will be greased with silicone grease to ensure the best water resistance and to protect the seal from mechanical damage when refitting. The winding/setting stem/ crown tube o-ring(s) will be replaced if necessary and re-greased as above. If a watch is fitted with additional pushers these will be removed and the same process is applied.

• FINISHING TOUCHES: The icing on the cake is a new leather, nylon, or steel strap to finish the refurbishment.

**Refurbishment does NOT include major in-depth restoration or servicing of quartz or mechanical movements. Watches that have undergone restoration and/or servicing will be listed as such in the description.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read these lengthy descriptions, but they are there to help you and us have the most trouble-free and enjoyable buyer-seller experience.

Kindest regards,

Jason & Kim, KimSon LFTR Watchmakers
