Sony MVC-FD81 'Hawaii Open 1999 Edition) (1998)
Sony started hosting the Hawaii Open in 1999 and has done it ever since. It is since then known as the Sony Hawaii Open, a recurring golf tournament.
The Sony MVC-FD81 came out in 1998. I strongly support the idea that this model presented here was either a promotion gag or an incentive for VIPs (likely as it was Sony's premiere to host this event). The plaque at the front of the camera is quite thick and very solid. It is polished metal and the letters are embossed. This is a classy plaque and not just a simple removeable decal.
I have never seen another camera like this before or after I got mine, so there is no telling as to how many of these cameras were given out.
