FenderCustomShop has announced the Limited Edition Masterbuilt WaylonJennings Telecaster Relic, which will be produced in a limited edition of 70 pieces worldwide by David Brown, who took over as master builder last year.
This product is a tribute to Waylon Jennings, an artist who carved his name into a musical legacy unlike any other, from playing bass with Buddy Holly in the late 50s to writing and performing with The Highwaymen in the 90s. This is a model that reproduces the proud Telecaster wrapped in leather.
The two-piece ash body is finished in Butterscotch Blonde, a color that faithfully reflects the original color, and is wrapped in a unique handcrafted leather cover. The neck features a 1-piece quartersawn maple neck with a 10 56"V" profile and a 7.25" radius fingerboard with 21 vintage upgraded 45085 frets. CustomShopHand-Wound'50 '51 Blackguard pickups feature a clear, crisp high end and balanced midrange for unmistakable early '50s Telecaster tone.
This is a Fender Custom Shop Showcase Dealer exclusive item, so it can only be purchased at Ishibashi Musical Instruments' Shibuya store. Purchases cannot be made at other Ishibashi Musical Instruments stores.
