This
is an extremely unusual, rare, historic, and collectable 25th
Anniversary zoo brochure from the smallest BIAZA zoological collection. Along
with it is an invitation to the official opening in the same year of the zoos
new £150,000 extension, which provided new enclosures for the zoos
yellow-breasted capuchins, ring-tail lemurs, meerkats, squirrel monkeys and
more. Rarely seen due to their vulnerable format not being conducive to
longevity, this seldom seen commemorative brochure and even rarer invitation is
unused and in ‘like new’ condition despite its 14 years. Inside, as well as
some very interesting pieces of information, there are photos of
yellow-breasted capuchin, common squirrel monkey, red titi monkey, grey-legged
douroucouli, golden headed lion tamarin, emperor tamarin, pied tamarin, pygmy
marmoset, ring-tail lemur, red-ruffed lemur, black & white ruffed lemur,
Northern tree shrew, ocelot, meerkat, cusimanse, bettong, Azara’s agouti,
scarlet macaw, and poison dart frog among others. They are without doubt, a
very collectable piece of zoo memorabilia from one of the U.K’s more
interesting zoological institutions and should definitely be of interest to all
collectors of zoo ephemera, zoo memorabilia in general and zoo historians. Together
they both make for a very collectable and unusual item that will definitely not
disappoint. It would be a really rare, unusual, collectable, and rather nice
addition to any zoo related collection and is a great opportunity to acquire a
very interesting, rare and historic piece of zoo ephemera that is rarely seen
and never comes onto the market and as such, you are unlikely to see either one
in hurry. A real gem that will certainly not disappoint.
