Offered for your consideration is one (1) Vifa # D19SD-05 19mm (¾ inch) poly dome tweeter that was original equipment in my Definitive Technology C1-J (C1-Jr.) center channel speaker, manufactured c.1998.  This tweeter was also used in many other brands’ speakers in the 1990’s and early 2000’s, but the buyer is responsible for accurately assessing its suitability for any other applications.

This Vifa tweeter is in clean, excellent condition. The poly dome is flawless with no dimples or marks. Plus, the faceplate has no scratches or cracks and the magnet structure shield cap also looks great. Also, the +/- terminals are marked for polarity (red dot = pos) and have never been soldered on the spades. Overall, this tweeter is in superb shape.

Most importantly, it’s been fully tested sounds outstanding as you’d expect from a Vifa product chosen by Definitive—fast, detailed upper midrange and spectacular highs up to the driver’s 20kHz limit (with 80 watt power handling). And, I tested the DC resistance at 7.2Ω consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the faceplate measures 3 11/16” diameter, it stands 1 5/16” tall, and the three mount holes are spaced 2 15/16” apart, c-t-c.

So, if you’ve been looking for a Vifa D19SD-05 tweeter to replace one that is blown or damaged in your Definitive C1-J, you’ve found the right listing—it’ll have your speaker sounding perfect once more in no time.
