While using an orthodox plate joint in order not to impair the traditional sound characteristics, the plate part has been machined to improve playability.
The side of the fingerboard has wood binding made of the same material as the fingerboard. This makes the sides of the fingerboard very smooth and prevents "burr" problems on the frets.
