For Sale: Pre 1500 1948 80” Land Rover
The first Land Rover was built in June 1948, making this year the 76th Anniversary.   There are very few pre 1500 chassis number 1948 Land Rovers in collectors’ hands and they are very much the “Holy Grail”. Supplied new by Taylors Garage in Truro with only 4 owners in total, she was purchased by a flower growing farm near Penryn in Cornwall.  The history file contains a copy of the original RF60 registration document. This is a very early 80” which even has her original engine, gearbox, chassis, hand built bulkhead and which was refurbished using factory spare parts in the early 2000s when genuine parts were still available. The quality of the restoration carried out is clear to see over 20 years later. She has been in a private collection and has covered 100 miles since. The brakes have just been completely overhauled as they had deteriorated due to lack of use. She is one of the first 300 built and is an exceptional car, still carrying her original 1948 Cornish numberplate. Most of the 1948 Land Rovers that come up for sale are Australian cars that have been brought over and do not have the amazing UK history of this one.  An unrepeatable opportunity.

She can be viewed and driven near Hungerford (Berkshire) just off Junc 14 M4 by arrangement.  Part exchange might be considered for something tempting.
