Published by Jonathan Cape in 1981, this is a hardback first edition, twelfth printing of 'From Russia with Love', the classic James Bond novel by Ian Fleming.

This is an ex-library copy with the usual stamps/markings and a issue and returns slip pasted to the front free end paper (see pics).

The original dust jacket is in good+ condition with Richard Chopping's superb cover design bright, fresh and complete.
It's generally very good except for the fact the rear dj flap has been slightly trimmed vertically.
The dj has been clipped and repriced with a sticker (£6.95 net) by Jonathan Cape.
There is light creasing to some edges and a blue sticker to the bottom of the spine which could possibly be removed without leaving residue if it was done carefully.

The original Cape boards are in good+/very good condition with the silver titles and cover design bright and sharp.
There is some bumping to the tail of the spine.
There is a red mark to the top of the text block.

There is a little damage to the edge of the inside of the front board where a strip of sellotape has been removed (see pic) and a piece of sellotape stuck to the inside of the rear board.

The pages are clean and tight throughout with some age toning and light marks to the text blocks.

Despite its ex-library faults, the book and dust jacket have been well preserved and this is a nice and inexpensive example of, what I believe, was the last From Russia with Love printing to feature Richard Chopping's iconic artwork.

UK bidders only please.
