US Rifle M1 Garand

This is a nice reproduction of an original WWII photograph showing a US .30 caliber M1 Garand rifle.  The Garand was the primary infantry weapon of US forces in World War Two.  It fired a powerful .30-06 cartridge from a 8 round enbloc style clip which was automatically ejected from the rifle after the last round.  The bolt remained open, allowing the soldier to quickly insert another 8 round clip and close the bolt.  The rifle was renowned for its superb accuracy, range and power.  General George Patton called the Garand "The Greatest Implement of Battle Ever Devised".  Over 6 million were produced during the war.     Size of photo is about 4" x 6".
