Description:

An antique silver quatrefoil French patch or powder box with a thistle and leaves on the front. Possibly from the early 1900’s with twin hallmarks on lid edge and one on the loop. The back is decorated with a stylized arabesque pattern. It has a ring which allows it to be worn as a locket. The lid closes firmly.

On the edge of the lid are two hallmarks; which are hard to make out.

To the left it looks like a boar’s head (tete de sanglier) for a Paris assay hallmark and on the right a diamond lozenge shape but I can’t make out the maker.

On the ring is I believe another boar’s head, but again, it’s very hard to make out.

Condition:

The lid with glass has seen better days and the inside of the box would benefit from a clean.

It would make a great project to restore it to its former glory.

There are small dents, as shown in photos.

The lower asking price reflects this.

Please study the photos carefully as I’m not a 100% sure what the hallmarks are.
