Gibson L-37

Description

It features a vintage sound that is dry and light, but has a strong core, and a muddy sound that is unique to a compact model.
The L-37 is a compact Blues King style F-hole archtop model that began production in 1935 as a superior model to the L-30, which had the same shape, and was produced until 1941.
The light yet crisp tone and warm sound are perfect for blues guitar and old timey music.
This instrument is a 1937 model, and although it has been used quite a bit and some parts have been replaced, it is in good condition and has a great atmosphere.
The top is spruce, the sides and back are maple, Jacaranda fingerboard, rosewood adjustable bridge, and the bridge has been replaced with repro parts.
The pegs have been replaced with later Kluson triples, and although there is some torque irregularity, there is no problem with operation.
The pickguard, holder, and tailpiece have been replaced, and the tailpiece remains original.
The nut is made of original-style ebony and has been rubbed and adjusted after the refret was readjusted.
The overall condition is good, but there are some superficial scratches on the top from playing.
The head logo has faded and looks like it will disappear even more if I rub it, so I haven't cleaned it as there is still some dirt around the logo.
The paint is in good condition and still has the shine it had when new.
This is a regular grip neck with a fingerboard width of about 42.5 mm at the nut.
The adjustment rod works well, and even though it's from this age, there's plenty of room.
The 6th string is set at 2.4mm on the 12th fret, and the 1st string is set at 1.7mm, making it easy to play up to high positions and in good balance.
It's a low setting, but with a normal touch, the sound doesn't get clogged, but when it's set high, it sounds with a firmer tone.
The adjustable bridge allows you to easily adjust the top and bottom, so you can set it to suit your preferences.
Since it is an archtop with a compact body, it does not have a powerful bass sound, but it is a simple instrument with a dry and muddy sound.
It has a lightness to its core, yet has a bitter sound, giving it a great atmosphere.
It has a cool sound that is perfect for playing blues, ragtime, and slide with your fingers.
It has a crunchy, dry sound with a warm tone that feels great when you play it.
It comes with an old original paper soft shell case from the time, and although it is not practical, it is a valuable item. If you actually carry it around often, you'll need a proper case.
