A pretty little Wenske bird or trout knife with jigged bone scales dating back to the1940’s. Sheath inscribed for 1949.

Measures approximately 6 1/4 inches long overall, closed. Full tang blade measures approximately 2 3/4 inches long, edge only. Obverse blade etched with “Weske USA” mark in a diamond. Jigged bone scales with a nice patina secured by two pins. White metal cross guard. Grey metal bird’s head pommel – almost feels and looks like lead (for balance perhaps?). Leather sheath which has been written on in ink with the date 1949.

Blade clean with some original polish. Scratching and age staining present. Staining to tang. Very slight right-hand warp to blade (see photo) – likely repairable. Sheath with slight loss of stitching. Per above, written on in ink to both front and rear.
