Excellent Polpex 1944 x 2 souvenir
stamp miniature sheets commemorating the 5th Anniversary Exhibition and Bourse
of the Polonus Philatelic Society held in Chicago IL February 25 – 27, 1944.
To commemorate Polpex 1944 a
special Polish Post postage stamp was issued by the Polish Government in
London. The 1 Zloty value stamp was indigo coloured and is a larger version of
the smaller 1941 slate blue 1 Zloty stamp of the same design previously issued in
1941, which depicts a Wellington Bomber and three Hurricane fighter aircraft
with both Polish and British markings, preparing for take-off.
I am offering both versions,
the perforate and the imperforate stamps, both have original gum and are in
superb original unhinged condition, along with the Polpex 1944 information
sheet.
An ‘austin1100’ logo has been
applied which does not appear on the buyer’s original.
