These hard plastic (like melamine) small plates, cups and saucers are the design of David Harman Powell for Ecko Plastics and the wonderfully stackable Novaware won the 1968 Prince Phillip Designers Prize. This set is of a dark orange/red variety, depending on the light/your eyes/brain. With contrasting white in addition to the angular appearance, it has a space age appeal. All pieces are marked with the makers and designers details on the underside.
The small plates are edged so your food doesn't fall off-they have a diameter of 16.5 cm.
The saucers have a raised middle that the cup sits on, meaning that they offer a sturdy pairing, less likely to slide. The saucer is 14.5 cm in diameter.
The cups have a top diameter of 8 cm and are 6.5 cm in height approx.
