Seachem 2 x 250ml Flourish Excel

• Bioavailable organic carbon

• Alternative to CO₂ supply

• Supports photosynthesis

Flourish Excel™ is a source of bioavailable organic carbon that all plants need. This is usually made from CO2 obtained, but can also be obtained from simple organic compounds (such as photosynthetic intermediates). Since the processes of producing photosynthetic intermediates and the buildup on them take place simultaneously, you can use Flourish Excel™ either alone or in conjunction with CO2 have significant advantages. The combination is particularly suitable for situations in which the further addition of CO2 could lead to dangerously low pH values. Flourish Excel™ also has iron-reducing properties that promote the ferrous state of iron (Fe+2), which is more easily utilized by plants than ferrous iron (Fe+3).

Plants need CO2, to produce longer chain carbon compounds, also known as photosynthetic intermediates. These include compounds such as ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate and 2-carboxy-3-keto-D-arabinitol 1,5-bisphosphate. Although the names are complicated, the structures are quite simple (5 carbon chains). Flourish Excel™ does not contain any specific compounds, but one that is very similar to them. By dosing Flourish Excel™, the participation of CO2 bypassed and already finished, structurally similar connections were achieved. Due to its structural similarity, Flourish Excel™ can be used in the process of building carbon chains in photosynthesis. Through simple chemical or enzymatic steps, it can be easily converted into any of the above compounds (or a variety of others).

Application

For the first use or after a major water change (> 40%): 1 cap (5 ml) per 40 liters

Thereafter, 1 cap per 200 l daily or every other day. To allow for different dosing, the capacity of the thread is approximately 1ml.
