Paris Jean Petit 1510
Leather Bound 8vo 8" - 9" tall Cxliiii, [5] ff. Signed a8-t8 (missing t8, a blank). Small octavo, 5" x 3.5" Date of March 19,1510 at the colophon. There is a digital copy online that collates to this copy, including the missing last leaf presumed to be blank. Petit seems to have published at least 3 editions of Saint Antoninus's "Confessionale" in the early 1500s, all of which are quite scarce. This 1510 seems to be the most scarce, with OCLC locating only one copy, at the British Library. OCLC 556466238. While Petit financed the publishing, the printer was probably Francois Regnault, according to Moreau. The beloved late medieval saint whose name was originally Antonius but whose fellow citizens felt such affection for him that they insisted on the cozy diminuitive of his name. He became archbishop of Florence in 1446 where his home was known as a hostel for the poor and where he was renowned for his charity and aid, especially during the plague of 1448 and the earthquake of 1453. The Summa confessionum, first published in 1472, was one of his great works

We are happy to combine shipping! For our international customers, import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up -- do not confuse them with additional shipping charges. We really cannot show merchandise below value or mark items as "gifts" - it can get us into all kinds of trouble with customs. Since Brexit, shipping to the UK may require a VAT invoice.

We have been selling books for over 20 years and pack and ship them with care.
