For the beginner or seasoned veteran…

For your consideration is a tested, working and excellently functioning Atari CX2600A four switch (aka Woody) system and accessories. Includes two CX40 joystick controllers, one set of paddle controllers, RCA to Coax adapter for modern televisions with an analog tuner (up to 2010ish), AC adapter and twenty-eight games (no duplicates).  You will also receive a reprint of the original instruction manual. 

Everything is tested, working and ready for gaming!  Game cartridge contacts have been cleaned and all games function perfectly. All controllers have been disassembled, contacts cleaned and function properly.  All console switches have smooth activation (some of those were disassembled, cleaned and lubed too). This bundle is very clean with normal wear and blemish marks that have accumulated over 43 years.  Two game labels are reproduction...River Raid and Laser Blast...all others are original and in good condition.  System and accessories are packaged securely and with care.

This unit and all of its accessories have been thoroughly cleaned and tested to be in excellent working order.  The following has been performed on the console and accessories…

·       Thorough cleaning inside and out of console and controllers. 

·       Reflowed cold solder joints.

·       Cleaned all switch contacts and relubricated switches in console.  Aluminum switch posts polished. 

·       Calibration of color, sound, and RF signal in console.

·       Controller contacts inspected and cleaned for joysticks, potentiometers cleaned for paddles.  

·       Game cartridges have their contacts cleaned with a deoxidizer and alcohol.  

·       All rubber and plastic conditioned for appearance and long life on controllers, cords, and console.

 

Sure, you can purchase a system cheaper from another seller that is “tested and working” (or even worse, "untested"), but will it work properly and last?  These systems are 40+ years old with wear and tear, and simply having a system power on does not mean it is calibrated to factory specs or even functioning properly.  I want to provide you with a complete working system that will perform beyond your expectations and last for many more years.

About testing...

Every console has joystick ports and switches cleaned and tested for proper function.  Sound, color, and RF signal are also calibrated.  All controllers are disassembled, cleaned, repaired (if necessary) and tested for proper function.

I test each console on three different televisions of varying ages and manufacturers that I own to ensure the best picture quality and functionality.  Using the RCA to Coax adapter that is included will enable you to play the system on most modern televisions (probably up to 2010 timeframe) that are equipped with an analog tuner.  Picture quality will vary with television and setup. 

About myself…

I have experience in electronics repair, at one time troubleshooting and repairing studio deck and camera equipment for television stations from around the country in the early 2000’s before everything went digital.  I take pleasure and enjoyment working on these Atari’s, and each console and bundle that I list has many man hours involved to make sure that it will last many more years. My asking price may be slightly higher than other comparable auctions, but you can rest assured that you are getting a rebuilt machine and components that will work and last a long time.  I personally own and play several systems and treat each one that I sell as if I were reconditioning it for myself. My young son also aids in testing each system 😉, if anyone can find a flaw, he can.

 *The Atari’s transmit audio and video through an RF signal.  New 4K Smart televisions cannot recognize it.  Please make sure you have an older CRT television, or a television equipped with an analog tuner (they quit putting them in TV’s around 2009-2010).  You can also run the system through a VCR and hook to your modern 4K television to make it work.  Below is a URL you can copy and paste in your browser of a great youtube video that explains this step by step….
