Fender Custom Shop 1954 Stratocaster 2 Tone Sunburst 1993

Description

1993 Custom Shop made 54 Strat now available!

54ST that reproduces the first year of Strat. The body is ash with 2 pieces in the center. You can see the red Custom Shop stamp and date on the neck joint cavity. The neck is bird's eye maple, typical of this period, and has a triangular shape. The frets have been replaced with medium jumbo size. The fingerboard surface has a 9.5 inch radius and is finished like a custom shop. The fingerboard surface was refinished when frets were replaced, and the top and back of the head are overcoated. Also, the entire neck is coated with coarse sandpaper, and the color is a little brown, probably to give it an antique feel. The PU has been replaced, and the details are unknown, but the DC resistance from the neck side is approximately 6.3k, approximately 6.0k, and approximately 6.3k. The center PU is not RWRP specification, and each pole piece is slightly chamfered. The inside of the cavity is coated with original conductive paint. The selector is 5-way and has been replaced with a recent one, each pot has been replaced with a recent one, and the capacitor is also a ceramic type. The nut has been replaced with a task type, and the string retainer, 1st string saddle, and set screws for each saddle have also been replaced. Each knob has also been replaced.

The body has scratches, scratches, line scratches, and dents. The pickguard has picking scratches on the side of each PU with a cloudy appearance. There is a small dent on the left side of the body top front PU. There is a toe-like dent on the side of the body top jack, and there is a scratch on the bottom from the tip of the arm. There is a small line scratch near the outer tip of the horn on the 1st string side, and there is a faint line scratch on the lower right part of the body side. There is a line scratch on the center part of the 2F back of the neck, but there is no rattling. There is a small scratch on the tip of the head. There is a light pea-sized scratch on the fingerboard surface 3F6 string side. Although each piece of hardware has some scratches and signs of use, it is in good condition considering the model year.

The neck condition is fine, and the truss rod can be adjusted to tighten or loosen, and can still be adjusted to tighten. There are no string marks on the frets, and the rest is about 90%. Currently, the string height is adjusted to approximately 2.0mm on the 12F 6th string side and approximately 1.5mm on the 1st string side.

Overall, there is some aging processing and PU replacement, but there are no noticeable signs of use and the overall atmosphere is good! PU replacement is not necessarily a highly rated PU itself at the time, so I think it is a normal thing to do. . Also, the neck area is solid, so you can still play it with ease. The way the serial number is typed and the atmosphere looks like a vintage series from that time, but there is no problem with custom shop products from that time. A certificate is also included. It has an open sound typical of Ash, and is pleasant whether it's clean or driving!
