1939 Jefferson Nickel

Mint: Philadelphia

Mintage: 120,627,535

Variety: Reverse of 1940 - QDR FS-802

Grade: PCGS UNC Details - Tooled

Up for sale is a fairly rare, desirable 1939 Jefferson Nickel that many collectors can add to their collection on a budget. This coin was struck with the reverse of the 1940 Jefferson nickel meaning it’s Monticello stairs, pillars and windows have more definition than the 1938 reverse design. Also, most of the lower half of the coins wording on the reverse shows clear and obvious evidence of quadruple doubling making this coin extremely sought after amongst collectors.

The condition of this coin is very bright and obviously uncirculated. All surfaces are bright and frosty. The details on the coin are sharp and clear. The downside to this coin is that there are some small, shallow scratches (most likely from an old holder with staples) on Jefferson’s forehead and just above his head in the empty space. I’ve photographed this area for your consideration.

This coin will be shipped in a padded envelope wrapped with bubble wrap for protection.
