Up for bid is a Lot of Five "I Love Liberty" picture back sterling silver spoons! The back of the bowls show a bird above a bird cage with an open door on the left side of the cage. Our research tells us that the makers mark of T.W is for Thomas Wallis, and the I Love Liberty design was inspired by the trials of the political activist John Wilkes during the period of 1761-1771. The spoons measure 4 3/4" each and the lot weighs 58.7 grams. The spoons are marked TW along with the lion passant on the back of the handles. However, there is no date mark or duty mark that we can see, so the exact date and origin cannot be determined. Please do your own research to verify. Engraved HD on the top of the back of the handles. The pieces have the evidence of age, handling, and storage that is shown in the pictures. Two of the spoons have damaged bowls as shown in the pictures. The pieces may need a good cleaning and polishing to bring out all of the beauty, but we will leave that up to the buyer. We are selling this lot of 5 spoons as is, as shown. The lot pictured is the exact lot of items you are bidding on. Be sure to visit our store where you will find many other interesting items! Check out our feedback and bid with confidence and thanks for looking!
