1874 $1 Gold Coin - Type 3 - Gorgeous Obverse Details

Mint: Philadelphia

Mintage: 198,800

Composition: 90% Gold

Condition: XF/AU Details (Ex Jewelry)

Up for sale is a rare $1 gold coin featuring the type 3 (Indian Princess - Large Head) design. Between all three design types, these $1 gold coins were the smallest gold coins that the United States ever minted.

This particular gold coin shows really nice surfaces and details on the obverse with no obvious problems or damage other than maybe a light cleaning. The reverse still shows the leftover soldering residue from when this coin was worn as jewelry but underneath those black areas, the details and surfaces are completely natural.

This coin would make for a great album filler in a type set or just simply a nice addition to a collection of any level due to its rarity and unique historical significance.

This coin will be shipped in a 2x2 protective coin flip.
